As a result of the cyber attack, Royal Mail had to shut down various systems to prevent the attack from damaging more systems. This lead to downtime which disrupted both the company and the customer. The main implication of this attack for Royal Mail was that they lost a lot of trust from the public as they were unable to keep the data secure. An implication for the customer would be that their packages got lost, or took a long time to get delivered.
It is important to create a robust password so that malicious attackers would be unable to guess your password or brute force their way into your account. A strong password is one which contains a lot of letters, numbers and symbols. A good length for a strong password is between 14 and 32 characters. To create a strong password, I like to choose a random word, followed by a bunch of random numbers and symbols. For example, "Yippee85746382!$" which would take 1 trillion years for a computer to crack. This may seem like a complicated password to remember, however if you practice typing it a few times it can be easy to memorise it.
